WHO OR WHAT ARE THE DJINN?

Curious to know who or what the DJINN are?

The term “Djinn” can be drawn to the word Jannu or Janna, a Persian word which simply refers to something hidden. This means that the Djinn are hidden to humans unless they wish to be noticed. As per the Islamic faith, the family of Djinn lived in isolated places. These areas are believed to be cursed or possessed and people stayed away from these places fearing they might attract the vengeance of a Djinni for meddling its privacy.

In the contemporary world, their invisibility could imply that they live in a parallel dimension that is comparable to our own existence. In other words, they can’t be seen in real sense.

The Djinn family is regarded as being quite real in the Middle East. In fact, even in the current Arab world, there are some who imagine the Djinn are just legends. Again, in Turkey, they are feared and respected. From the start, kids are instructed to keep away from them and avoid areas where their environment borders our real world.

History Of The DjinnIn other parts of the world like the west, there is little awareness of this old-fashioned race, though they have been named in the media and some other popular writing. Because of some spirited Disney tales of Aladdin’s Lamp that were there in the Western society and other distinctive stories of genies, the Western world sees Djinn on the genie as being naive.

The people from the Middle East (both in modern and ancient times) view the Djinn as quite dangerous and unruly. The Qur’sn says that, just like humans, Djinn have a free preference and can decide between the good and evil. Basically, this implies that not all Djinn are evil. Actually, some are genuine and many are just reserved and do not want to be disturbed by people. The Qur’an has a whole Surah devoted to the Djinn known as Al-Jinn.

Normally, Djinn doesn’t have a tangible form however, they can take various shapes. In Oman, the Arab country, inhabitants in the communities close to the Hajjar Mountains consider that a Djinni can invade our world for an unknown period of time. The Arabs believe that Hajjar Mountains, found in the northeastern part of Oman are the areas in which the Djinn can access the world.

Also, the Oman people believe that you can differentiate Djinn from a human being by checking their eyes (their eyes usually mimic those of humans, therefore, it is hard to distinguish them). The Djinn’s eyes would appear yellow with elongated pupils. Because they have this complexity and don’t want to be noticed, quite a number of them will simply take the shape of a dog, snake or other animals well-known in the area.

There exist male and female Djinn. Further, they partner and have families. Their family relatives are grouped together in clans that are lead by a king. Seemingly, Djinn’s children are pretty interested in humans, and will always appear like gnomes, fairies, elves and other beings notable in mythology. Despite the fact that Djinn kids are influenced by their mothers and fathers to fear humans, their interest usually gets the better of them; consequently, they will occasionally try to associate with human children. Maybe parents need to take the narratives of their kid’s imaginative friend more thoughtfully.

Goetia Djinn Demon Daemon SigilsAlthough it has been practiced in the past, Islamic law doesn’t allow humans to wed Djinn. It is believed that the offsprings of such union can be physical in the form; however, they are sociopaths that do not distinguish right from wrong. In Iraq and Iran, feared serial killers are believed to be the outcome of matrimony between a human and Djinn. More so, it is stated that the offsprings of this unholy matrimony have exceptional strength, intelligence and charm, as well as unbelievable capabilities of mind power, which originates from their Djinn half. Additionally, Saudi Arabia people assume that girls with quite hairy legs are questionable of having Djinn as one of their origins.

The Queen of Sheba (called Balkis or Balquis by Arabs) was said to be produced by a Djinn mother wed by a human. Besides not being in the line for the throne, Balkis was able to advance to that status when she was still below fifteen years. According to this tale, she had incredible power beyond the minds of others, particularly men, and directed people to assassinate for her. In fact, with her power, she was able to manage the famous king Solomon. Read More: Magic Circle Of Solomon

Muslims think that angels do not have free will. More so, they were formed by Allah just from the most refined of light they can’t be corrupted therefore, in Islam, there is nothing like “fallen angels.” The mighty beings who descended from grace were Djinn. Some years back, one Djinn called Iblis who had the power of an angel declined to submit to the man at the request of Allah. Because of this, Iblis was thrown out of heaven. The purpose of Iblis is to reduce other Djinn and eradicate the human race.

The Persian stories say that the Djinn once existed in this world. The Djinn became so influential and came up with technology that was much more prominent than even the current technology. Their race started warring with each other and dirtying the physical cosmos. In an attempt to protect the Djinn race from ruining themselves, Allah sent some angels to eliminate them from the world and put most of the Djinn in a universe parallel to ours. Here, they could do no more outrage to other beings or themselves. Relly powerful Djinn who had fallen from the grace of God along with Iblis were imprisoned in rings, bottles and majestic caves around the planet. Among the alleged caves is known as Majis–Al-Jinn and is found in northeastern Oman.

As per the legend, most of the Djinn race envy having to leave this world, which they still regard as their residence, to humans. They need their home back and will do anything they can to achieve that.
