Understanding Blood Magick
Blood magic can bring all sorts of negative images when mentioned. The very term blood’ is for sure an attention grabber. Again, when this is combined with words such as spell’ or magic’ definitely brings the thought of human libations on a rock altar trickling with dark red and other pictures that appear like something right out of a horror movie.
Usually, the story is more stirring than its reality. Undoubtedly, blood can be dangerous- both mundanely and magically. However, fire can be dangerous too. In fact, nobody would imagine warning you not to use it to prepare your meals. You only have to know how to use it properly and safely.
The reality is, blood magick can be pretty potent if you are willing to perform it, and if you understand what you are doing. Basically, it should not be carried out carelessly or lightly; but it does not match the taboo’ branding that most people are quick to call it.
Blood Magic is Not Blood Sacrifice.
Blood Magic- No Harm Necessary
Blood magic is not necessarily magic that is about killing animals or people in ritual offerings. That should be just clear from the start. It is not about laying some innocent being out on an altar or in the middle of a pentagram and wounding or executing it. Really, this would definitely be all kinds of oppression, not to talk about forbidden, and is not at all what it implies when anybody mentions the blood magick.
So what exactly is blood magick?
Blood magick is the application of some drops of blood during a ritual or spell- normally your own blood, however, if you are doing it for someone else it could be a bit different since you will have to use their blood (with permission and caution). Those few drops can truly add strength to a magical working in different ways.
So is Blood Magick Evil in any way?
One thing you should learn about blood magic is that it is not essentially evil. Blood is not evil, is it? Or does it turn evil’ or want to do ill-disposed deeds just because it is currently in your body? If that is not the case, why do you imagine it would become evil’ when it is outside of your body? Some individuals wrongly think that applying blood in magic is dark’ or usually only linked to malicious plans. To be sincere, this is just not true.
The negative implications point back to that concern about blood stated earlier: fear of power, fear of our own mortality, etc., are the sort of driving constituents behind the fear of blood. Surely, in case you are homophobic, you might need to avoid blood completely. It is not for everyone.
But most people come from a more impersonal viewpoint. That is, they see blood just like a component or object you would apply in magic- simply as a tool and that is how it should be. It is a quite robust tool, yet a tool nonetheless. It is neither malevolent nor benevolent in its own right. Usually, you could apply it for a number of reasons, though just like any other kind of tool it is not recommended to use it for immoral goals.
