Gold and Alchemical Healing
Learn about Gold and Alchemical Healing. First and foremost, the science of alchemy is a spiritual method of conversion and purification. Nevertheless, there are two kinds of alchemy that usually overlap: Practical alchemy or laboratory alchemy and the Spiritual alchemy also known as inner alchemy or theoretical alchemy.
1. Practical alchemy- this is concerned with changing a base material into a greater and more cleansed substance like changing of base metal, or even the extraction of a medicinal element from a plant for the sake of creating a healing compound.
2. Spiritual alchemy- this is about the change of the human soul from a condition of being baseness to one of perfect enlightenment.
The traditional texts of alchemy exhibit a lot of allegory and symbolism. Some of these papers had little more than alchemical illustrations and prints. The alchemical compositions that had many illustrations were far less about the practical features of lab alchemy than with the esoteric doctrine of spiritual alchemy and the alteration of the human soul. These works would become the demonstrated textbooks of the Rosicrucian movement in the 17th century.
The thought of alchemical pictures and pictorial symbolism is intended to intrigue and motivate the viewer on different levels- conscious and subconscious-and talk directly to the human soul on the real nature of the alchemist’s “gold.”
The term “gold” talked of by the alchemists is not what many people imagine of as mundane gold, which is the gold, applied for ornamentation and currency. Alchemical gold has different names that assist define its properties. The names include the Stone of the Wise, the Celestial Ruby, the Magnum Opus, and Lapis Philosophorum. Ordinarily, gold is a representation of humanity’s lower nature transformed into the greater Self. It expresses true spiritual accomplishment, illumination and enlightenment. The quest for the Philosopher’s Stone is the quest for ultimate purity and truth. In spiritual alchemy, gold means the transformation of the lower self into the divine and higher self.
Written in 1938, the Philosopher’s Stone was Israel Regardie’s initial extensive examination of spiritual alchemy. At the moment it was recorded, Regardie was proved that practical alchemy was obstructed for what was really a psycho-spiritual means of inner maturity.
In Gold, Regardie depicts the representations of alchemy as focus points for imagination and the willed guidance of essential and astronomical forces. The energetic stimulation or magnetism of hidden natural forces can lead to real, tangible results, including healing. Regardie strongly held that the delivery of essential power was a proven and objective truth that could be developed and learned by an average person. Personal involvement with this power over many years allows Regardie to produce a simplistic therapeutic approach based on inner stimulation, utilizing Golden Dawn methods of magical accords, color visualization, applied willpower, and the fluctuation of spiritual names connected to particular forces. He outlined how the colors of the different energy centers can be used for healing, mental and physical redemption, and internal alchemy. Regardie’s intelligent system for curing illness in oneself and in others is incorporated in Gold. One instance of this is the Restorative Ritual of Hod.
Hod is the 8th Sepirah on the Qabalistic Tree of Life. In the case of the human body, this power focus is positioned at the right pelvis joint, however, it also compares to the terrestrial energy of Mercury, which reigns over the central nervous system, respiratory system, the thyroid, the brain, and the hands. The powers of Hod could be applied to support the healing process because of an imbalance or illness in any of these stated body systems.
In case the magician is conducting this custom to treat him or herself, the sensitive or Queen Scale color of Hod (which is orange) will be employed. This is due to the fact that feminine color seems to make one’s aura open, receptive and passive. If the custom is to be conducted for the interest of another, then it means that the Projective of King Scale color of Hod (which is violet) will be employed.
If you are conducting the custom for your own gain, fancy your Hod center, found at the right hip, charged with a glowing orange light. Focus on this warm orange color- at your right hip. With regular breathing, observe this orange radiance start to extend outward from Hod till it saturates your whole aura. Visualize yourself totally immersed within a sparkling orange egg of light. Swing “Elohim Tzabaoth,” the spiritual name of Hod, many times. Focus on the precise healing that you want to bring into your sphere, strongly reflecting the imbalance or illness being melted away, and leaving just healthful tissue. When you think that the act of the exercise has been achieved, wind up and seal the ritual by doing the Qabalistic Cross.
Performing the ritual for the sake of another person follows nearly the same methods although there are some few differences. In fact, like when you are conducting the custom for your own, you will have to seal the ritual by doing the Qabalistic Cross again.
