History of Santeria

The History of Santeria

Learn the history of Santeria. Santeria is one of the Afro-Caribbean religions. It spread transversely in Cuba at the time of the slave trade. This religion has other names like Regla de Ifa, La Regla Lucum or Regla de Ocha. The religion is syncretic.

Santeria’s major elements are from both Christianity and Yoruba. This region’s language is Lucumi with a dialect of Yoruba language. About 1 million slaves were exported to Cuba in the early 29th century.

Actually, the term Santeria is a Spanish word meaning ‘devotion to the saints.’ Those who believe in this religion mostly worship the ‘Orisha’ which means the ‘head guardians’. The Santeria was practised secretly for a long time by the slaves in Cuba and the Caribbean. Other slaves who later migrated from Yoruba were required to change to Christianity. Consequently, the Yoruba beliefs and Christianity coupled to form the Santeria. Basically, this is the major reason why this region has a lot of the Christian features. On the other hand, there is also another story that the Santerians did not merge these two religions. They just carried them in parallel finally finding them quite similar to differentiate.

The masters for the Yoruba slaves were mainly Spanish and the slaves were also required to speak the same. With time, their religious systems mixed and the languages mixed as well. And to confirm this, the Santeria has both Yoruba and Spanish terminologies.

Santeria Ritual

Like Christians, the Santeria worshiped God too though they had other figures referred to saints below the God. The Santerians had a way of equating their Orisha such that they corresponded with the Saint of the Christianity. With that, the Santerians had a belief that they worshiped a certain Christian saint for their owners and this was in confidence, worshiping a god for their own religion. The Santerians kept on with this for a long time until they left Cuba for other places such as the United States, Brazil, Europe and Canada.

The Gods of Santeria.

The Sun is the sign of Olofi, Olifi is the communicator that is between the Heavens and earth and Olorun is the one which owns the Heavens. More so, the Orishas are the emissaries of the powerful God Olodumare. Though this religion is believed to worship more than one God, their God was just one with the above four manifestations.

Each of the Orisha has a unique feature and behavior. Furthermore, they were distinctively correlated with different items. The Orishas assisted people to know their fate and direct them towards attaining their goals. The Santeria also believed in ritual sacrifices and chickens were the major animal for sacrifice. The sacrifices represent cleansing and the forgiving of sins. Additionally, they are thought to bring fortune and good luck.

The Santeria love spell and Santeria curse.

The Santeria is highly influenced and linked with the nature spirits which can be requested when casting a spell. Though the spells are quite powerful, you can use it and get the Saterian experience without necessarily hurting anyone around you. The Santeria love spells can facilitate love gains and bring your partner back. Actually, the Santeria love spell is among the most cast spells.

Before you cast the Santeria love spell, it is good to get the advice from a spell caster so that you can get the benefits of strong knowledge and the ability to invoke the suitable spirits, particularly for your spell.

The Santeria love spell can give results within some days to about 4 months. The spells usually need the intervention of the Orishas which aids in creating a distinct path for your spell.

In case your partner has gone astray this spell is strong enough to bring them back and make sure that there is a long-term and steady relationship.  While the Santeria love spell can bring fortune to your love experience, the Santeria curse, on the other hand, can bring misfortunes to other people. Like the Santeria spell, the Santeria curse also depends on the power of Orishas. It is essential that one believes in these powers so that the curse can work the way they need.

Whether it is about money, protection, love or revenge, both the Santeria spell and curse will work and help you attain your goals. The most significant thing is that they are safe and would not hurt you or people around you.
